NARITA – NIKKO –
KINUGAWA
After breakfast, depart for beautiful Nikko,
visit the world most famous Toshogu Shrine. It
is a gorgeous complex of colorful structures
featuring the superb craftsmanship of Japan’
s 17th century artisans. Next, drive on Irohazaka’
s zigzag driveway up to the mountain whereby we will
stop over to visit the stunning Kegon Falls and over
view the beautiful Lake Chuzenji.
Thereafter, enjoy an Edo experience. Edo wonderland
features of the Edo period, trade-mans, warriors,
a feudal lord, a princess, mill wheel houses and
warriors’ mansions. Enjoy a day back to Edo era
watching a number of shows particular to an Edo
Village from comical performances to amazing
Ninja feats. Tonight, you will check in Kinugawa
onsen hotel.

KINUGAWA – NUMATA – KUSATSU
After breakfast, depart to Tobu
World Square. The Tobu World exhibits
102 exquisite 1:25 replicas of the world
famous architectural works and ancients
monuments, see before you the magnificent
Great wall, Temple of Heaven, Sphinx, pyramids,
St Peter’s Basilica, Eiffel tower, Colosseum,
leaning Tower of Pisa, Angkor wat, Taj Mahal, Nortre
Dame Catheral……and many more.
Thereafter, enjoy an Edo experience.
Thereafter visit Numata Harada fruit orchard
where you will have a chance to pick fruit
including grapes, pears, apples etc…
(fruits picking are subjected to
weather condition). Next continue to Kusatsu.
Upon arrival, you will have chance to walk
around and take pictures of this small
little unique onsen town – Kustasu Yubateke.
Lastly not to be miss to watch the popular
Kusatsu Netsunoyu performance – Yumomi process
which means cooling water process. Witness the
onsen workers cool the hot bath water by
stirring it with wooden planks. Tonight
you will stay in traditional Onsen (hot spring)
hotel. |

KUSATSU –
TATEYAMA KUROBE ALPINE ROUTE
(Nagano – Toyama)
Today an exciting day awaits you. The
Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route has a
distance of 86 km and goes from Tateyama
Station on the Toyama Chiho Tetsudo line to
Nagano Ogisawa, by a combination various
types of vehicles namely Tateyama Cable car,
Tateyama Tunnel trolley bus, Kurobe Cable car,
Kanden Tunnel Trolley bus and Tateyama ropeway.
Mountaineers and tourists will visit in the
season of tinted autumn leaves. Kurobe Dam is
built at the upper stream of Kurobe-gawa River
with a capacity of 200 million tons of water and
at a height of 186 m. On the way to the Alpine-route,
there are many scenic spots such as the Akushiro-no-kabe
rock, Syomyo-daki Falls and also Murodo where a spring of
2-5 degrees Celsius gushes out even in summer.

TOYAMA –
SHIRAKAWAGO – TAKAYAMA – MATSUMOTO – KARUIZAWA
This morning, we will make our way to Shirakawa-go
Ogimachi Gassho Village. This tranquil
mountain village of 113 buildings has been
registered in 1995 as part of the World
Heritage. Its architectural structure
known as “gassho-zukuri”
(a house with a thatched gable roof, so
name because of its shape resembling hands
clasped in prayer: “gassho”), steeply
sloping at an angle of 60 degrees for protection
against heavy snowfall in winter. Thereafter,
depart to Takayama. Takayama, an ancient, tranquil
city called “Little Kyoto”. Take a stroll
at the narrow street of Sanmachi (the old street of
Takayama). It retains the elegance of an Edo period
township of 400 years ago. Enjoy strolling through the
vibrant town where the streets are lined with restaurants
and shops built in the original own houses, while
rickshaws are wheeled throughout the town. You will
then by-pass Matsumoto Castle. Take some memorable
picture of this beautiful castle. Continue to Karuizawa
for your night stay.

KARUIZAWA
–
TOKYO – NARITA
This morning, proceed to shop in
the popular Shopping Paradise –
Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza outlet mall.
It is one of the biggest outlet
mall in Japan. There are more than 120
international branded shops. Thereafter,
depart to Tokyo. Upon arrival,
visit the local products market –
Ameyoko. Over here, there are some 500
reasonably priced shops selling food,
jewelry, sport, cosmetics and other
items. Lastly, spend sometime shopping in Ginza. |
